14-year-old boy seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in Grant County (Grant County, WA)

On Wednesday, a 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries following an auto-pedestrian collision in Grant County.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of S.R. 243 and Columbia Blvd at about 3:49 a.m. after getting reports of a hit-and-run crash. The early reports showed that a car hit the boy for undetermined reasons. The driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

The victim was found approximately three miles south of Mattawa by milepost 11 of the highway. He was rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown at this time.

The suspect vehicle was described as a silver Chevrolet Cavalier of an older model. It was allegedly heading southbound on S.R. 243 when it hit the boy and continued southbound from the scene. Officers said that the vehicle will have damage to the front and passenger side mirror. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under active review.
