14-year-old boy injured after a single-vehicle crash near Woodland; Landon J Sexsmith arrested (Woodland, WA)

On Saturday, a 14-year-old boy suffered injuries following a traffic accident on Interstate 5 near Woodland.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at 5:15 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5 at milepost 20. The preliminary investigation indicated that 19-year-old Landon J Sexsmith, from Longview, tried to pass on the left shoulder when he failed to maintain control of his 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup and slammed into a cable barrier.

Sexsmith remained unharmed, but his passenger was transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with unspecified injuries. Sexsmith was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault and felony hit-and-run and was booked into the Clark County Jail. No other details are available.

The crash remains under review.
