A tragic motor vehicle accident unfolded in Harris County on Sunday night, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old girl who was ejected from her aunt’s vehicle. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 7700 block of State Highway 99 around 11:20 p.m.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Rangel-Ramos, was transporting six passengers, including her 56-year-old mother and children aged 1, 3, 12, and 16, after a weekend visit to San Antonio. While en route to Conroe, the vehicle veered off the roadway, striking a cable barrier system and rolling over.
Tragically, the unrestrained 12-year-old niece, Camila, was ejected during the fatal crash and pronounced dead at the scene. One other passenger sustained injuries. The aunt is cooperating with authorities, and investigations by the HCSO Vehicular Crimes Units are ongoing. Charges are yet to be determined.
