12-year-old boy injured after being hit by a vehicle on Cedar Avenue (Fresno, CA)

A 12-year-old-boy received injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday on Cedar Avenue.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place on Cedar Avenue and Woodward Avenue. The early reports showed that the boy was seen crossing Cedar Avenue and Woodward Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. The traffic light at the crossing was reportedly defective and the boy thought he had the right of way.

At that point of time, a southbound vehicle hit the minor at the intersection. The boy had some cuts to the head, but generally, his condition is safe. The suspect driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be involved in this accident. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
