On Wednesday evening, an 11-year-old girl lost her life following a traffic collision that also injured five other people in EI Mirage.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident was reported near El Mirage Road and West Joe Ramirez Road at about 6:35 PM. The early reports showed that a four-door car was heading north on El Mirage Road when a pickup truck going south crashed into it.
The truck reportedly drifted left across the raised median and smashed head-on into the passenger car. The 11-year-old girl, riding in a four-door vehicle, died of her injuries as a result of the collision. On arrival, emergency crews took the three other occupants of the car to a local hospital, where they are in stable condition.
The two occupants of the pickup truck received minimal injuries, officials reported. The authorities did not rule out criminal charges. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.
