11-Year-Old Boy Killed In A Motor Vehicle Accident In Smith County (Smith County, TX)

A tragedy unfolded early Wednesday morning as an 11-year-old boy lost his life in a fatal crash after driving a vehicle and colliding with a tree. The incident occurred on County Road 220, six miles east of Tyler.

The young boy, behind the wheel of a 2020 Hyundai Tucson, lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with a tree at 3:24 a.m. Despite the swift response, the boy succumbed to his fatal injuries on the scene.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating the circumstances surrounding this devastating motor vehicle accident. This includes the perplexing question of why an underage child was operating a vehicle. The fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
