According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Tuesday in Corpus Christie. Officials confirmed that one person died and one person was injured due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on North Highway 281 and County Road 116. An 18-wheeler was traveling in the outside lane. At the same time, a GMC Terrain failed to yield the right of way at the stop intersection.
As a result of this, it collided with the semi-trailer. The two rear passengers in the GMC Terrain were ejected from the vehicle.
One of the passengers, a 10-year-old child, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The other passenger and the driver were transported to Corpus Christi Spohn sustaining injuries. The identities of the victims have not been revealed.
The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
