10-Year-Old DeErick Williams II Killed In A Multi-Vehicle Accident In Austin (Austin, TX)

A devastating fatal crash on the U.S. 183 Toll on Monday night resulted in the death of a 10-year-old boy, as confirmed by the Austin Police Department. The collision involved a sedan and a hatchback in the 200 block of the U.S. 183 Toll southbound lanes.

According to APD, the sedan was stationary in the middle lane with hazard lights on when the hatchback rear-ended it. Tragically, DeErick Williams II, one of the juvenile passengers in the sedan, suffered life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to them.

The driver of the sedan escaped unharmed, while the hatchback driver sustained minor injuries and cooperated with police at the scene.

This multi-vehicle accident marks Austin’s sixth fatal crash of 2024, resulting in six fatalities this year.

Comparatively, on the same date in 2023, there were 11 crashes and 11 deaths reported.
