A tragic incident unfolded outside an apartment complex in Texas when a rideshare driver inadvertently ran over and fatally injured a toddler. The Uber driver had just dropped off five passengers, including a 1-year-old girl, in north Harris County.
Unaware that the child had moved in front of the vehicle, the driver started moving forward, resulting in a devastating accident. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the child’s death.
The toddler, who was close to turning 2 years old, was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Following the accident, the driver faced a physical assault by family members of the victim. Authorities are investigating the incident, and as of now, no charges have been filed against the driver or the attackers.
