1-Year-Old Child Killed In A Motor Vehicle Accident In Sonoma County (Sonoma County, CA)

The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Sonoma County on Sunday. The accident occurred on Highway 1, north of Leeward Spur at around 10:25 p.m. on Saturday. 

According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. A Ford F-150 was headed north on the highway when the driver lost control. This caused the vehicle to veer off the side of the road before heading down an embankment of dirt. 

A child passenger in the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 4-year-old was also present and injured. However, they were minor injuries. The driver, a 19-year-old boy, was determined to have been driving under the influence at the time of the crash. 

The fatal crash is still being investigated. The identity of the child has not been disclosed at this time.
