1-year-old boy killed, 1 person seriously injured after a solo-vehicle crash in Northshore (Franklinton, LA)

On Sunday, a 1-year-old boy lost his life while one person suffered serious injuries following a traffic collision in Northshore.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place at about 10:30 a.m. on LA Hwy 440. The early reports showed that the driver was heading west on LA Hwy 440 when they drifted off the road. The car went airborne before rolling over. The child was not buckled up into his car seat, was ejected from the vehicle and died.

The driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident. The driver was transported to the hospital for treatment. Officers suspect that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the collision. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
