Louisiana state police reported a two-vehicle crash near Pumplin center road in Tangipahoa parish that claimed a life and injured two others.
The preliminary investigation into the crash reveals a 2006 GMC Sierra, driven by George Johnson, 28, on Interstate 12 in the left lane, rear-ended a 2019 Hyundai Elantra that was heading eastbound.
Benjamin DeLaune, 1, was properly restrained in a rear-facing child seat. He sustained fatal injuries from the crash. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.
The Hyundai driver sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Johnson sustained minor injuries from the crash.
An investigation into the crash is under review.
