The California Highway Patrol reported a pedestrian crash that claimed the life of a woman in Kings County on Friday.
At around 10:30 p.m., a woman walking westbound on Front Street, east of Oak Avenue, was struck by a GMC Sierra that was traveling on the same road. The woman was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
