The California Highway Patrol reported a solo motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of a woman in Imperial County on Sunday.
Approximately at 9:00 p.m., a woman driving a 2005 Honda Pilot southbound, lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a canal. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the canal. The woman was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
