According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in San Rafael on Saturday.
The crash happened on Point San Pedro Road at around 7:26 a.m. According to the investigators, a 2019 Tesla and an unknown vehicle were involved in the collision.
The officials stated that the driver of the Tesla was traveling westbound and allowed the Tesla to veer toward the right. The vehicle collided with the fence before continuing into the backyard of a residence and falling into an in-ground swimming pool.
The driver of the Tesla was identified as the woman who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been disclosed.
The fatal crash continues to be investigated by the San Rafael Police.
