The Midland Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle accident on the westbound U.S. 10 in Midland Wednesday evening.
At 6:05 p.m., a vehicle traveling west near Sturgeon Avenue slowed to avoid debris in the roadway when another car slammed into the rear.
The woman was trapped inside her vehicle. She was rushed to My Michigan Health Centre in Midland. Although her injuries were severe, she remained in stable conditions after the treatment.
According to the police, the other vehicle passengers and the female driver refused medical help on the scene.
The westbound lanes of U. S 10 were shut down for two hours for further investigations.
All lanes were re-opened Thursday morning.
