The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a multi-vehicle accident on March 30 in San Bernardino County. The crash claimed the lives of a 43-year-old woman and two boys on the 15 Freeway in San Bernardino County’s desert northeast of Baker.
According to the authorities, the driver of a 2019 Kia, carrying five other individuals, lost control due to hydroplaning in heavy rain near Halloran Springs Road. The Kia veered across lanes, crossed the median, and collided head-on with a 2016 Mercedes SUV carrying four people. The crash resulted in the deaths of a 43-year-old woman, a 13-year-old boy from Madera, and an 11-year-old boy from Los Angeles.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the collision. The identities of the deceased victims remain undisclosed at the moment. Seven others involved were hospitalized.
