The Grand Prairie Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday. The officials confirmed that one person died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victim was not identified.
Around 10:45 p.m., a Ford Mustang was travelling south when it hit a Honda Civic car in the 2200 block of S. Belt Line Road. The driver of the Mustang, 21-year-old Damien Torres, allegedly fled the scene on foot before turning himself on Saturday.
A passenger of the Mustang and the driver of the Civic was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A juvenile passenger of the Civic was pronounced dead after arriving at a local hospital.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
