The California Highway Patrol reported a fiery motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of a person in Desert Hot Springs.
Roughly at 5:30 a.m., a silver Honda was travelling Southbound on Little Morongo Road at a high speed. The vehicle lost control and fell into a dirt berm before eventually bursting into flames.
The driver of the vehicle was killed at the scene, said the investigators. The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
