The Abilene Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Thursday. The officials confirmed that one person died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victim was not identified. 

Around 1:30 p.m. the crash happened near the intersection of Old Anson Road and Lowden Streets where a man was found lying on the road next to his 2012 Yamaha motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. The victim was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

The events leading to the collision are not yet known. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
