According to the Rural Metro Fire, a motor vehicle accident was reported in Knoxville on Friday afternoon.
The officials stated that a single vehicle was involved in the crash that happened on Norris Freeway.
The officials arrived at the Norris Freeway near Miller Road at around 2 p.m. where a flipped vehicle was found and one person was trapped inside.
The first responders stabilized the vehicle and rescued the victim.
The officials stated that the person suffered serious injuries and was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center’s trauma unit.
The identity of the injured victim was not released by the officials.
The officials are investigating the crash to confirm whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
