1 person seriously injured after a vehicle slams into a light pole in east Austin (Austin, TX)

One person suffered injuries after a vehicle rammed into a light pole in east Austin overnight.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of Ed Bluestein Blvd. near Purple Sage Drive at about 1:50 a.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle accident. The early reports showed that a vehicle crashed into a light pole for undetermined reasons.

Due to the impact, the driver was pinned inside the vehicle. On arrival, emergency responders rescued the driver to safety. The victim was rushed to Dell Seton with potentially serious injuries. No other details are immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
