1 person killed, two others hurt after a stolen Amazon truck slams into building in South Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA)

A man was lost his life and two others received injuries after a suspect slammed a stolen Amazon truck into a building Thursday afternoon in South Los Angeles.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident was reported at around 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of 48th and Main streets. The early reports indicated that a suspect had stolen an Amazon vehicle during a delivery at Woodlawn Avenue and 41st Place before losing control and ramming into parked vehicles about a half-mile away.

The reports also showed that the truck ended up on the sidewalk and hit three people, including a man who was trapped between the vehicle and the building. Two people incurred minor injuries, but a man in his 60s described as a food vendor succumbed to his injuries at the scene. After the collision, the driver allegedly jumped out of the truck and ran away.

A bystander who saw the crash spotted the suspect and informed authorities. The unidentified driver was eventually detained. He was described as being in his 20s. No further information about the crash and the stolen vehicle were provided. The reports also revealed that the truck came to a stop on the sidewalk and two other vehicles with damage. No other details are available.
