The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office reported a fatal crash on Saturday. At around 1:20 pm, deputies and Texas DPS troopers rushed to the 806 mile marker on eastbound Interstate 10.
Preliminary findings indicate a front-end loader was moving eastward on the Interstate 10 Trinity River Bridge, and was being followed by another passenger vehicle with hazard lights on. As the front-end loader descended the bridge slowly, a semi-truck moving in the same direction collided with the rear of the passenger vehicle and the front-end loader.
Texas DPS confirmed that the driver of the trailing passenger vehicle succumbed to their injuries.
The investigation into this multi-vehicle accident remains ongoing. No further information regarding the cause of the collision and the victim’s identity are available at this time.
