On Thursday morning, a two-vehicle crash claimed the life of one person on Loop 202 overpass at Broadway Road.
As per the initial information, the fatal car accident happened at about 7 a.m. on Loop 202 overpass at Broadway. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Kia Soul and a BMW were involved in the crash.
Reports further revealed that the driver of Kia Soul traveling westbound ran a red light in the area and collided with a BMW that was heading northbound on the Loop 202 freeway. The driver of the Kia then struck a barrier wall. On arrival, emergency responders found the Kia’s driver dead. The driver of BMW remained unharmed in the crash.
Authorities believe that impairment did not contribute to the fatal accident. While the freeway itself remained unaffected, a portion of Broadway Road was blocked until around 9 a.m. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified.
The crash remains under active review.
