The California Highway Patrol reported a solo motor vehicle accident in Porterville on February 7. The crash occurred south of Avenue 224, west of Road 203, and the time of the incident remains unclear.
According to the authorities, a person driving a 2001 Saturn SL eastbound at a high speed, when attempting to make a turn, struck a power pole. As a result, the driver was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim remains undisclosed.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. No further information is available at the moment.
