1 Person Killed In A Pedestrian Crash In Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

Phoenix police are investigating a tragic incident after a woman was struck and killed by a car on Thursday night in west Phoenix. The collision occurred at the intersection of 51st Avenue and McDowell Road around 9:30 p.m., prompting responses from both police and fire crews.

Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe the woman was walking midblock on McDowell Road when she was hit by a westbound car. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.

Police have stated that the driver did not exhibit any signs of intoxication. At present, the identity of the deceased woman has not been released pending notification of her next of kin.
