According to the authorities, a pedestrian crash that took place in East Oakland claimed the life of a man on Monday.
Approximately at 5:42 a.m., a vehicle that was traveling at the intersection of 98th Avenue and San Leandro Street, struck a man who was attempting to cross the road. Immediately, the following vehicle also struck the pedestrian, who was lying on the road. As a result, the pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
