The California Highway Patrol reported a pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a man in Visalia on Thursday. The accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Avenue 320 at around 5:40 p.m.
According to the officials, a man and a vehicle were involved in a collision. A 42-year-old man was driving a Land Rover eastbound on Avenue 320 and struck a pedestrian who was in the same lane. The pedestrian was fatally injured and was declared dead immediately.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
