Tragedy struck on Monday evening in Thurston County as a collision between a car and a pedestrian led to a devastating loss of life. The pedestrian accident occurred at Milepost 110 near Carpenter Road, resulting in the closure of all northbound I-5 lanes.
Washington State Patrol troopers are on the scene, conducting a thorough investigation. The events leading up to the collision are not entirely clear at this time. Traffic is being diverted to Martin Way East as authorities work to clear the area.
