In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a tragic auto-pedestrian collision on I-35 North in Temple claimed the life of a woman. Temple Police Officers responded to the fatal crash in northbound lanes near the Nugent exit at approximately 2:29 a.m.
According to the officials, a woman and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The investigation revealed that the victim was attempting to cross the I-35 on foot when she was struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police found no indications of foul play. Authorities are working to identify the victim and notify her next of kin.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the pedestrian accident. There are no other details available at this time.
