A tragic pedestrian accident unfolded Monday evening on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Sun Valley, where a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle near the Tuxford Street exit.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene after receiving the report at 6:31 p.m.
Shockingly, when authorities arrived, no cars were present, indicating that the vehicle involved had fled the scene after the collision, as per the CHP.
The identity and age of the deceased individual have not been released, pending notification of the next of kin. The circumstances surrounding why the individual was on the freeway remain unknown, leaving authorities with unanswered questions as they continue their investigation into this fatal crash.
