The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office reported a pedestrian accident on Sunday. The accident occurred at the intersection of South Baltimore Road and South Palouse Highway at around 4:20 p.m.
According to the officials, a woman was hit by a car that was travelling south on Palouse Highway. Officials who responded to the scene tried to save her life but were not successful and she succumbed to her injuries. Her identity is not known at this time.
The driver involved in the fatal crash remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
