The Spokane Valley Police Department reported a pedestrian accident last week. The accident occurred on East Sprague Avenue between Bannen and Best Roads at around 8:00 p.m.
According to the officials, a man in a wheelchair was attempting to cross a busy road in the dark. He was hit by a vehicle that remained at the scene.
The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene despite treatment. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. The officials have confirmed that impairment and speed were not factors in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
