1 Person Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Santa Clara (Santa Clara, CA)

The California Department of Transportation reported a pedestrian accident in Santa Clara on Sunday. The accident occurred just north of the Santa Clara Caltrain station just before 11 p.m. 

According to the officials, southbound train #630 struck a passenger who was on the tracks at the time of the accident. What caused the person to remain on the tracks even after the train was seen is not yet known. 

The victim was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time. There were 12 people present on the train at the time of the crash and none of them were injured. 

The fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
