According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident that took place in San Ysidro claimed the life of a person on Tuesday. The accident occurred on Interstate 5 near Dairy Mart Road.
Approximately at 3:12 a.m., a Mitsubishi Endeavor was travelling on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 when it struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead right away.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
