According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian accident occurred in San Mateo on Wednesday.
The crash happened in the Hayward direction of the San Mateo bridge at around 4:30 a.m.
The officials stated that a person got out of the car and was hit by a vehicle on the bridge.
The victim suffered major injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene. The identity was not revealed by the California Highway Patrol.
The officials are investigating whether drugs, alcohol, distracted driving, or speed played a factor in the crash.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
