A tragic incident unfolded in Sacramento County on Monday as a woman lost her life after being struck by a Union Pacific train in the North Highlands. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District reported the pedestrian accident shortly after 5 p.m. near Roseville and Walerga Roads.
The woman, who was on foot at the time of the collision, was fatally injured and was declared dead at the scene. Union Pacific mentioned that she was not at a railroad crossing when the incident occurred and is collaborating with local authorities to determine the circumstances.
This fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been released.
