In a tragic incident on Tuesday night, a woman lost her life after being struck by multiple vehicles in Rio Rancho, as confirmed by Captain Jacquelynn Reedy of the Rio Rancho Police Department.
The pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of New Mexico State Road 528 and Southern Boulevard SE. Authorities received distress calls reporting a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at approximately 10:09 p.m.
The officials reported that a woman was found to be fatally injured and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that the woman disregarded traffic signals while entering the intersection, resulting in the fatal crash with multiple vehicles, stated Reedy.
The identity of the deceased will be withheld until her next of kin has been notified, according to Rio Rancho Police.
