According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian accident that occurred in Redding claimed the life of a man on Saturday.
Approximately at 4:30 a.m., a man walking on southbound Interstate 5, north of Knighton Road, was struck by a vehicle that was traveling on the same road. As a result, the man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
