The Austin-Travis County EMS has reported a pedestrian accident in North Austin. The accident occurred just before 1 a.m. at 6500 North I-35 southbound near Huntland. 

According to the officials, a pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear at this time. The officials have not disclosed if there were others injured in the collision.

One person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time. The cause of the fatal crash is not yet known at this time. It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in this collision. Many traffic restrictions caused delays and closures in the area.
