In a tragic incident just before 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a fatal crash occurred near Clovis Road and North Loop 289 in Lubbock. The Lubbock Police Department reported that the crash involved an 18-wheeler.
One person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Clovis Road was closed east of Quaker Avenue for eastbound traffic, and drivers were advised to avoid the area. The circumstances leading to the crash and the identity of the victim have not been disclosed at this time.
