A tragic incident unfolded in Los Angeles on Saturday when a man lost his life after being struck by a big rig at an intersection. According to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison, the fatal crash occurred around 2:20 p.m. in the 1600 block of North Vermont Avenue.
The man was hit by the big rig as it was turning west onto Hollywood Boulevard, resulting in his death at the scene. The truck driver remained present and cooperated with law enforcement. The identity of the victim has not been released.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The authorities are investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the pedestrian accident.
