A tragic pedestrian accident unfolded in Henderson on Friday as a pedestrian lost their life after being struck on US 79. Henderson Police Department responded to the scene in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 79 South around 7:45 p.m.
The officials came to the scene and discovered a critically injured man. Officers initiated life-saving measures until further medical assistance arrived. Despite being transported to a nearby hospital, the pedestrian succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead.
The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time. The driver of the car involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. The crash is under investigation, and police are actively evaluating potential leads to determine the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.
