A tragic pedestrian accident unfolded in Glendale on Sunday afternoon, resulting in the death of a man struck by a car. At approximately 5:15 p.m., Glendale police responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near 43rd and Peoria avenues.
According to police reports, a woman was travelling west on Peoria Avenue when her vehicle struck a man who was crossing mid-block.
Unfortunately, the man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity remains undisclosed. Preliminary assessments suggest that neither speed nor impairment played a role in the fatal crash.
Detectives are conducting an investigation, prompting the closure of the area near 46th and Peoria avenues for several hours, with no specified reopening time. Commuters are advised to seek alternative routes.
