The Fairfield Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Wednesday night. The accident occurred on Travis Boulevard and Clay Street just before 10:45 p.m.
According to the officials, a pedestrian and a black 2001 Honda Accord were involved in the collision. The pedestrian had been crossing Travis Boulevard when they were hit by the Honda.
The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 60-year-old Willie Weaver, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. The fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities.
