The El Cajon Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Friday night. The accident occurred near the intersection of Cuyamaca Street and Weld Boulevard at around 10:20 p.m.
According to the officials, a pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in a collision. A 2016 Toyota Tacoma crashed into a pedestrian. The events leading up to this are not clear at this time.
The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
