The Harris County Sheriff’s Department reported a pedestrian accident near Cypress on Sunday. The accident occurred in the area of FM 1960 West at around 11 p.m.
According to the officials, a woman was crossing the road near FM 1960 when she was hit by a vehicle. The vehicle has since been described as a tan Volkswagen Passat and it was headed west.
The woman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Unfortunately, she succumbed to them and was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been disclosed at this time.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and was found to not be at fault and was released. The victim had been crossing the road illegally.
The fatal crash is still being investigated.
