The Arizona Department of Transportation reported a pedestrian accident that occurred on Tuesday and confirmed that one person died.
The incident reportedly took place at milepost 174, near State Route 587. The reports stated that a pedestrian was struck by a semi-truck in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Chandler and was resultantly killed.
The aftermath of the accident also involved a closure of the westbound lanes.
No information regarding the identity of the victim, nor any details about how the incident unfolded have been made public yet.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It remains uncertain whether alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in the collision.
