1 Person Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

The Bakersfield Police Department reported a pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a man in Bakersfield on Sunday.

Approximately at 2:38 a.m., a vehicle travelling west on the 9500 block of Meacham Road hit a pedestrian who was walking on the same roadway. 

The pedestrian was seriously injured and transported to the hospital. However, he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the location for investigation.

The identity of the pedestrian is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
